Powder coating is a simple process in which paint in a finely ground powder form is sprayed onto a surface. The sprayed part is then placed in an oven where the powder melts, flows, and fuses into a continuous coating which is very hard and has no porosity.

 

Powder coating has greater resistance to chipping, scratching, fading, and wearing than other finishes such as wet coating. This process is best for materials that are exposed to the outdoors.
